K-5th Project-Based Learning

  • At Lighthouse Learning, our K-5th grade project-based learning (PBL) approach incorporates hands-on learning experiences, thematic units, leveled learning, whole-brain thinking, cooperative structures, and positive behavior support to provide a comprehensive and enriching educational experience for our students.

  • Through hands-on learning, students actively engage with materials and concepts, fostering deeper understanding and retention.

  • Thematic units allow for interdisciplinary exploration, connecting subjects in meaningful ways and promoting holistic learning.

  • Leveled learning ensures that instruction is tailored to each student's individual needs, allowing for differentiated instruction and personalized growth.

  • Whole-brain thinking strategies are integrated into our teaching practices, stimulating both hemispheres of the brain and enhancing cognitive development. Cooperative structures encourage collaboration and teamwork, teaching students valuable interpersonal skills and promoting a sense of community and belonging.

  • Positive behavior support systems create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and explore new ideas.
